Who We Are

LitUK: Life in the UK Test '26 is a mobile app developed and operated by Gome Software Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17181136). Our registered office is at 124 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX. We act as the data controller for any personal data processed through this app and can be reached at hello@gomesoftware.com. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number ZC140932. Our D-U-N-S number is 234781576.

Data We Collect

LitUK does not collect or transmit any personal data to our servers. All study data — including your quiz attempts, scores, favourites, and mistakes — is stored locally on your device using the device's standard storage APIs. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app or reset your progress in Settings.

Advertising (AdMob)

The free tier of LitUK shows interstitial ads between tests, powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) to serve personalised ads.

On iOS, a standard App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt is shown before any ad tracking occurs. You can change your preference at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking.

On Android, you can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in Google Settings → Ads.

Upgrading to LitUK Premium removes all ads entirely.

Analytics (Firebase)

We use Firebase Analytics to collect aggregate, anonymised usage data such as screens visited, quiz completion events, and in-app search terms. This data cannot be used to identify you personally and is used solely to improve the app.

In-App Purchases

LitUK offers optional one-time Premium upgrades (1 month, 3 months, or lifetime) processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not handle payment details — all billing is managed by Apple or Google under their respective terms and privacy policies.

When you restore purchases or reinstall the app, LitUK silently queries the store to recover your entitlement. No personal payment data is accessed or stored by us.

Third-Party Services

Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • The right to access your personal data
  • The right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • The right to restrict processing
  • The right to data portability
  • The right to object to processing

As LitUK stores all study data locally on your device and collects no personal data on our servers, most of these rights are satisfied by default. You can delete all local data at any time via More → Settings → Reset all progress in the app, or by uninstalling it. For any data held by Google or Firebase, please use their respective privacy controls.

Children's Privacy

LitUK is intended for adults preparing for the UK citizenship test. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Data Retention

We do not retain personal data on our servers. All local app data is retained on your device until you delete it. Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard policy.
